Camps are a wonderful way for children and teens to learn about the world of animals. Education, animal experts, hands-on activities and career building are all part of the experience.

Summer Day Camps at the Humane Society
Animal Adventure & Education Camp (Grades 2nd - 7th)
Come and learn compassion, responsibility, safety and care from knowledgeable experts in the animal field. Become a Junior Vet, and make lasting friendships. Go behind the scenes at the Humane Society and meet dogs, cats, rabbits, farm animals, marine life, reptiles, birds, wildlife and other exciting animals! Train a dog, hug a bunny, feed a cat, pet a reptile and learn and discover why animals are such an important part of our lives. Field trips may include: Bergin University Canine Studies, Bodega Bay Marine Lab, Wildlife Rescue and much, much more.
Teen Career Camp (Grades 8th - 12th)
Spend the week behind the scenes of the Humane Society and learn how you can help animals in your community. Become familiar with animal welfare organizations throughout Sonoma County and around the globe. Discover a variety of careers by learning directly from experts working in the fields of animal care and welfare, dog training, veterinary medicine, animal shelter and rescue management, and animal control. Field trips may include: Bergin University of Canine Studies, Animal Care Center and Sonoma County Animal Care & Control.
2012 Summer Camp Schedule
Animal Adventure & Education Camps and Career Camps are held in the summer. Each session is one week (M-F) from 9:00AM - 3:00PM. Sessions are categorized by grade level (grade starting in the fall 2012 school year) with the first session beginning in June and the last session ending in August.
Due to the popularity of our summer camps, Registration is restricted to one week of camp per child per summer so that we may serve the many children that want to participate.
Cancellation Policy
75% refund 14 days or more prior to first day of camp.
50% refund 7 days prior to first day of camp.
25% refund 4 days prior to first day of camp.
No refunds will be issued 3 days or less prior to the first day of camp.
Other Requirements
Parents are required to attend a mandatory orientation offered the week before camp begins and sign our policies and procedures form. Due to the nature of our business, with constant exposure to animals and their allergens, our education programs are not recommended for children/teens with known allergies. Children with allergies or other health concerns should have a signed release from their doctor. Participants are expected to be self supporting to participate in all physical and academic activities planned and/or required by department position duties. Because of staffing restrictions we may not be able to accommodate special individual needs. This is a recreational summer camp program. The Humane Society is not a licensed child care provider.

*Note: Camp Session #1, is a four day camp held Tues-Fri due to the Memorial Day holiday. Rate is $230.

Winter Day Camps at the Humane Society
Winter Camp (Grades 2nd - 6th)
Enjoy a few days of your winter break with the Sonoma Humane Society to learn about companion, farm, and wildlife animals. Spend time with cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, and farm animals. Meet animal experts, participate in team projects and crafts activities. All activities are on-site at the Humane Society.

To register for camps, please use our secure online registration. Camps do fill up quickly so don't wait.
